Richard Rick Sawrie

Richard "Rick" Sawrie, 73, died April 24, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born October 24, 1940 to parents Richard L. & Imogene Sawrie. Rick was a senior at Central High School during the 1958-59 school year and was part of "the class that wasn't". Rick joined the U.S. Navy and received his G.E.D. while serving. Rick is preceded in death by his wife Wanda "Sue" Sawrie and his father Richard L. Sawrie. He leaves behind his mother, Imogene Sawrie and two sons, Brent (Barbara) of Indian Wells, Calif. and Scott of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Monica, Dylan, Ayden, Harrison, Zach and Kate and his devoted companion, Francis Erion. Rick is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Cathy) and William "Jerry" (Teresa) Sawrie all from Russellville, AR; three sisters, Betty Platt (Dr. Michael) of Rogers, Barbara (Bruce) Thalheimer and Martha (Warren) Stephenson both from Little Rock, and a number of nieces and nephews. After completing his service in the U.S. Navy he attended Little Rock University. He was the owner of Food Service Brokerage and part owner in Ann Smart Shop. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Weir Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas.
