Robert "Buddy" McDade

Robert Edd "Buddy" McDade, 87, of Fordyce died Sunday April 28, 2013 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. Born April 19, 1926 at Fordyce, he was a son of the late Edd McDade and Vera Pierce McDade Veasey. He was a member of the West Fourth Street Church of Christ, a Navy Veteran of World War II, a licensed first class steam engineer, and worked at the Veteran's Hospital in Memphis. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie McDade. Survivors include a son, Gary McDade of Chattanooga, Tenn; three daughters, Shirley Yarbough of Dallas, Texas, Janelle Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Marilyn Simmons of West Memphis; two brothers, Lamar McDade of Watson Chapel, Charles McDade of Yuma, Ariz.; three sisters, Rachel Davenport of Lytle, Texas, Ruth Todd of Locust Bayou, Ora Lee McBride of North Little Rock; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery with Todd Easterling officiating.
