Carolyn Layne Sneed

Carolyn Layne Copeland Sneed, 77, of Quitman, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. She was born on Thursday, July 11, 1935 in Quitman, to the late David Layne (Buster) and Alta Vernette Herring Copeland. Carolyn was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a wonderful cook and her home was always open and anyone was welcome to come and have something to eat and drink. She was a member of Stacy Springs EHC for several years. She is survived by her daughter, Janie Baker of Quitman, granddaughter, Brooklyn Baker of Conway, sister, Linda Sue Copeland Bennett of Benton, nephews, David M. Bennett (Patty), Dale E. Bennett (Pam) both of Quitman, David Sneed (Tonya) of Flippin, Mitchell Sneed (Vicky) of Texas, Chad Burford (Raedean) of Quitman; nieces, Karen Reeves (Steve) of Texarkana, Texas, Jacque Reynolds (Pat) of Benton, Karen Davison of Heber Springs, Christy Barger (Kenneth) of Quitman and Angie Wilson of Little Rock; several brothers and sisters-in-laws, great-nieces and nephews and friends. Carolyn is preceeded in death by her husband of 56 years C.M. Sneed; her parents; brother-in-law, Jack Bennett; and nephew, Greg Sneed of Quitman. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Quitman United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Quitman Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
