Oleta Faye "Mamaw" MeGee was escorted home by a host of angels to join the heavenly choir Thursday, Feb 7 at Conway Regional. She was born June 6, 1936 to Beecher Doyle and Macel Lee Quattlebaum of Damascus. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie, whom she worked alongside as helpmeet, dairy farm partner, companion and best friend for 56 years. Also surviving her are son Steve, his wife Missy, daughter Angela, and 3 granddaughters, Lindsey and Megan Triplett, and Sarah MeGee. Oleta was the epitome of the "virtuous woman" described in Proverbs 31, as she served and loved her husband and family with all of her heart, body, soul and mind all the days of her life. She set a beautiful living example to her children and grandchildren by living a life of virtue and character. She loved God and her church and was committed to serving God through the church, having served through the years as Sunday school teacher, Bible school director, choir member and deacon's wife. She was a "quiet" encourager, in that every month she would sit in her chair and make out cards and notes to every church member that had birthdays, anniversaries, or that she thought needed a word of encouragement. She loved to sing, go fishing, sew and garden, but above all she loved doing things to demonstrate her love for her family. Family visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, February 9th, at First Baptist Church, Damascus followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Lloyd Cemetery in Damascus. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
