Dale Carrick Bradley

Dale Carrick Bradley, 51, of Fort Smith, died, February 12, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born on September 21, 1961, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to James L. Bradley and Linda Carrick Bradley. Dale moved to Fort Smith in 1969 and attended Bost School and later worked at Abilities Unlimited. until his health limitations forced retirement. Dale enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and was honored to carry the Special Olympics torch at Fort Smith games. Dale was a member of First United Methodist Church and took his religion seriously. He enjoyed following sports, particularly the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Dallas Cowboys and the local teams in the Fort Smith area. Dale was friendly and compassionate and enriched the lives of the persons he encountered with his gentle, engaging manner. Most of all, Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his father, James L. Bradley. Dale is survived by his mother, Linda Bradley, of Fort Smith, his sister, Joyce Babin, his brother-in-law, Hunter Babin, and his niece, Catherine Babin, all of Little Rock, his uncle, Tom B. Bradley of Searcy, Ark., an aunt, Jimmie Lou (Mrs. A.B.) Bradley of Midland, Texas, and several cousins. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, at the Fort Smith First United Methodist Church, Roebuck Chapel and Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. and will receive friends following the Memorial service in the church Narthex.
