Victor Lee Brown

Victor Lee "Vic" Brown, 85, of White Hall, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. He was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Bradley County, son of William Burl and Myrtle Lee Vaughn Brown. Mr. Brown was reared and received his early education in Bradley County. He served in the United States Coast Guard and Navy. Mr. Brown worked for Jefferson Motor Company for 42 years before opening Vic Brown Motors. He owned and operated Vic Brown Motors for 12 years. He served 17 years on the Dollarway School Board, 8 years as alderman for the City of Pine Bluff, four years as treasurer for the City of Pine Bluff and three years on Pine Bluff Chamber of Commerce Board. Mr. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall, Jacob Brump Masonic Lodge and Union Chapter Number 40 Order of the Eastern Star. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Brown was also a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his long life. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; granddaughter, Dana Reynolds Nichols; two brothers, Harry Brown and Otha Brown; three sisters, Maxine Doss, Evalene Ozment and Sue Durey; and step-mother, Oleta Ozment Brown. Survivors include his wife, Murphy Goodman Brown, whom he married June 13, 1946, in White Hall; children, Dr. Michael Brown (June) of Hillsboro, Mo., Vikki Reynolds (Bill) of Hot Springs, Teresa Marks (Leon) of Little Rock and foster daughter, Allene Rice of Freeport, Ill.; three brothers, Burl Brown Jr. of Fairfield Bay, Ark. Johnny Brown (Kay) of Ridgedale Mo. and Wayne Ozment (Brenda) of Hermitage; two sisters, Bethalene Milholland of McGehee and Linda Durey (Morris) of Wilmar; brother-in-law, Voy Goodman (Carolyn); six grandchildren, Kristi Burke, Bryan Brown, Bryon Reynolds, Heath Reynolds (Katherine), Adam Napper and Will Finkelstein; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery, Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Robinson's.
