Robert B. Passmore, age 78, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Chase County, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at his home. A celebration of life service was held Monday, Jan. 7, at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Pastor Mark Eichler, of Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City, conducted the service. Burial was in Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Kan. The son of Ted R. and Josephine Waidley Passmore, Robert was born Aug 12, 1934, in Cottonwood Falls, Kan. He graduated from Elmdale High School in Elmdale, Kan. and from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army. He and Andrea Fritze were married Jan. 30, 1960, in Strong City. He retired, from Chevron, in 1996. He liked to read and to be outdoors. He enjoyed his family, especially his daughter, Melanie, and he was an animal-lover. He is survived by his wife, Andrea, of the home; a daughter, Melanie Anne Kapke of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Norma June Shanbour of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Passmore.
