Clariece Harper Johnson (Mrs. Curtis), 93 of Little Rock, Ark., formerly a life, long resident of Smackover, Ark., passed away on July 2, 2013. She was born on April 13, 1920, in Shreveport, La., the only child of Susie and Ben Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, Rev. Curtis Johnson; a son, Gary Johnson; and son-in-law, Tom Ogden. She is survived by her, daughter, Benni Ogden Fambrough (Delbert) of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Ashley Fletcher (Dr. James) Thomas and Lydia, April Wilkinson (Rev. Donnie) Mollybeth and John Harper, Jody Nida (Dr. Joseph), David and John, Kurt Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Johnson Capps (Stephen). Clariece was a graduate of Tyler Jr. College (Texas) where she majored in business. She had a long career in banking at National Bank of Commerce (Simmons First) in El Dorado. She was a member of North West Baptist Church in El Dorado and the Smackover Joy Club at First Baptist. She was an asset to her husband's ministry in every church he pastored. She taught Sunday school and Bible school, planned socials, and played the piano until well in her 80's. She was known for her generous nature and was loved by family and friends. At the age of 92, she moved to Presbyterian Village in Little Rock. A celebration of her life will be held at Young's Chapel in El Dorado Monday, July 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sye Duke and Rev. Donnie Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will begin at 10: a.m. until service time.
