Henri DeVries Pote

Henri DeVries Pote, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away November 2, 2013. He was born October 15, 1924 in Elmhurst, Delaware to parents, John and Blanch Pote. He was a member of Double Wells Assembly of God Church. He loved Jesus and was an ordained minister and Bible teacher. He was a World War II Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, who received an Army Civilian Service Award upon retirement from Pine Bluff Arsenal. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Anna Pote and Rebekah Marshall; his son, Ernest Pote; and his granddaughters, Lydia and Hannah Pote and Jessica Granderson Grissen. Henri is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cora Pote and his children, Ruth (Irving) Granderson, Susanna (William) Granderson, Jonathan (Linda) Pote, Deborah (Ken) Gheen, Samuel (Raquel) Pote, Daniel (Sharon) Pote, Martha (Michael) Dollar, Joseph (Sherry) Pote, Sarah (David) Swartz, Melody (Mike) Bradford, Dorcas (David) VanGilst, Ardelle (Scott) Walters, Joanna (Jeremiah) Reid, Dalena Peterman, and Michael (Denise) Pote. He is also survived by 57 grandchildren; 29 grandchildren's spouses; 74 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Pote. Visitation is 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Centennial Fellowship Church, White Hall, Arkansas, with funeral to follow at 11 a.m. Interment is at Lee Cemetery on Sulpher Springs Road in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
