Ben F. Scroggin, Jr. 92, of Little Rock, AR, passed away, in his home, Nov. 4, 2013. He was born on March 17, 1921 in Biscoe, AR. Ben served as a Lt. Colonel in the Army Air Corp. He married the love of his life, Imogene, on April 9, 1946. In 1958, he was hired as Senior Vice President of Business Development with Worthen Bank. In 1964, he began to serve many years as President of Commonwealth Federal Savings & Loan, and then went on to be the President of Superior Federal Bank. He retired from banking in 1986. Ben was an original shareholder of the Arkansas Travelers. In 1960, he went door to door selling stock to keep baseball in Little Rock. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Travelers Baseball Club for over 40 years. He also served on the Executive Committee for over 35 years. He was President of Parkway Village Board of Directors and also served numerous years on the Board of Directors for the Baptist Health Foundation. Ben was preceded in death by his father, Ben F. Scroggin, Sr., his mother, Margaret Adams Scroggin, his sister, Margaret Scroggin Thompson, and his loving wife of 55 years, Imogene P. Scroggin. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Scroggin of Little Rock, his granddaughters Rebecca Moore (Wade) of Little Rock, and Elizabeth Evans of Hot Springs, along with his great-grandchildren, Dylan Evans, Maddie and Charlie Moore. He was very dedicated to his family, never missing a soccer game or dance recital. He was a lifelong member of the Christadelphian Ecclesia, and love attending Bible school. He loved golf, Travelers baseball, hunting and the Razorbacks. He was lovingly known as "Grandnitenite" by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. "Nite Nite" was loved by all and never met a stranger. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR (501) 224-8300. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Ark.
