Jack Dreher

Jack Robinson Dreher passed from this life on Sunday, September15th, 2013, having recently celebrated his 92nd birthday with family. He was a gifted master mechanic, electrician, plumber and carpenter as well as an all around "handy man". Due to his insatiable intellect there were few things he could not fix, replicate, reinvent or improve upon. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Norma McDonald Dreher and his second wife, Susan Brown Dreher. Also preceding him were two sons, Marvin Jack Dreher and Paul Wayne Dreher, daughter-in- law, Nancy Dreher, and grandson Michael Ross. He is survived by his daughter, Lou Dreher and son, John David Dreher, and daughters-in-law, Sandi Moon Dreher and Billie Oholendt Dreher. He was "Grandpa Rabbit" to Lance Boyd, Leslie Dreher Singleton, Lt. Col. Jeff Reiman, Stase Dreher Dollarhide, Eli Dreher, Gini Dreher Allen, Tim Dreher, Lauren Dreher, Leigh Ann Dreher Mallett and John T. (Jack) Dreher. He was a WWII Navy veteran who served his country overseas as faithfully as he served his family and friends. In his early years, Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later he focused his energies on traveling, gardening and woodwork. Fiercely independent, he insisted on living life to its fullest, leaving nothing on his ‘bucket list.' There is a barely used cane leaning in the corner; a fitting symbol for an aging, "durable man" (his doctor's term). He was quick of wit to a peaceful end. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
