Janice Judith Sweeney Monroe, 79, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. She is survived by three daughters, Jan Marie Hammon of Hot Springs, Ark., Dana Monroe Caldarera of Stokesdale, N.C. and Sandra Monroe McKay of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandsons, Trevor Caldarera of Fayetteville, Sean King (Lauren), Jason King, Blake Caldarera, Mason McKay, Tate McKay, Monroe McKay, Landon McKay and Carson McKay all of Little Rock, Ark., one granddaughter, Grace McKay of Little Rock, Ark.; one great-grandson, Bishop King of Little Rock; and two sons-in-law, Pat Caldarera of Stokesdale, N.C. and Jeff McKay of Little Rock, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysious "Ollie" Sweeney and Clementine Sweeney Lofaso; step-father, Frank Lofaso; and her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Roy Joseph Monroe. A special thanks to the caregivers at Ginny and Bob Shell Alzheimer's Center at Parkway Village, Little Rock for their loving care to Janice. A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock, Ark. A mass of Christian burial will be at the church at 11 a.m., Wednesday. Private burial will be in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. or to Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock, Ark.
