Nancy Jean Marlatt

NANCY JEAN MARLATT, 71, went to be with her Lord and savior on Feb. 14, after a long battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dorothy Winter; and her late husband, Jim Morgan. Nancy was director of the Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church Early Learning Center for 35 years. During this time she touched the lives of children and families from all over the world. She achieved her dream of the preschool achieving the Better Beginning Quality Program for child care. Nancy was full of life, loved her Lord, her family and children. Nancy always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She always put others first. Nancy will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Harold "Red" Marlatt of 50 yearS; four children, Dale (Joyce) Marlatt, Jim Marlatt, Mark (Danette) Marlatt, Carrie (Chad) Cauley; one sister, Beverly Neely; two brothers, Ed Winter (Carol) and Mike (Virginia) Winter; and many grand and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Feb., 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. followed by graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon. Visitation will be at Huson Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Any Memorials may be made to the Sylvan Hills UMC Early Learning Center Preschool.
