Gary Lynn Hawkins, 50 of Cabot, died Monday, June 2, 2014 after a ten-month battle with cancer. Gary was born November 1, 1963 in Laredo, Texas. Gary left the US Air Force after 10 years and was currently in active reserve status with the 343rd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. He was proud to serve as a Public Affairs combat photographer. He was a member of Cabot Church of Christ and was the Assistant Director of the Diamond State Chorus. Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer (Hadley) Hawkins; children, Jacob Hawkins of Edmond, Okla., Jordan Aist and husband Brandon of Enid, Okla., and Jessica Hawkins of Conway; parents, Dan and Joann Hawkins of Dixie Inn, La.; and siblings, Renee Broden and husband Jim of Dixie Inn, La., David Hawkins and wife Valerie of Crandall, Texas and Greg Hawkins and wife Traci of Plain Dealing, La. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Cabot Church of Christ. The family will visit with friends following the service.
