William "Fay" Pounds, age 94, of Lewisville, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 15, 2014. He was born on Jan. 14, 1920 in Rosboro, Ark., the son of William Felix Pounds and Grace Bailey Pounds. On June 23, 1944, he was married to Laura Jeane Meux. He was preceded in death by his oldest child, Susan; his parents; his brother, Harold Pounds; and his step-father, Rolf Gould. Fay served his country honorably in the Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He faithfully served the Lord and his community at Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Pearcy before moving to Texas to be near his children. He enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening and watching sports. He was a devoted husband, loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in the knowledge that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Fay is survived by his wife, Laura Jeane Pounds of Lewisville, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Dee Pounds of Flower Mound, Texas and Alan and Marlene Pounds of Costa Rica; one daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Robert Grant of Flower Mound, Texas; four grandchildren, Bill, Amanda, Natalie and Thompson; one great-grandchild, Benjamin; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Patty Gould, of Amity; one brother-in-law, John Meux and wife Elizabeth of Denton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in the Piney Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Gallimore officiating. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and the Thaddeus H. Caraway, V.F.W.
