Fred L. Whitfield

Fred L. Whitfield, 88, of Benton, passed away June 24, 2014. He was born April 16, 1926 in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late Henry and Mattie Brooks Whitfield. Fred served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Whitfield, brothers, Doyle, Ray, Virgil, Derrel and Norris Whitfield, sisters, Lucille Bryan, Bernice Crutchfield, Reba Jane Whitfield, Lyla Whitfield and son, Jeff Whitfield. Fred is survived by his sons, Joe and Floyd Whitfield, brother, Caroll Whitfield, sisters, Nelsine Richey, Nelorine Hickman and Betty McAdams, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be Friday, June 27th at 1 p.m. with Joe Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
