John Ed Brown 96, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014. He was born October 20, 1917 in Damascus, Arkansas to Malcolm S. and Alma R. (Nash) Brown. He is preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Dorothy Jean "Dot" Coffer Brown and his daughter, Julie Brown Whetsone and brother, Darl Dean Brown. John Ed is survived by one daughter, Laurel Brown and her husband Andy Tomarken, bother-in-law, Spencer and wife Norah Tomarken, his sister, Dorothy Lee and brother, Joe L. Brown, son-in-law, Bud Whetstone and many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends and care-givers. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific. And was a civil engineer for the US Corps of Engineers for over 30 years. For decades he served as a leader church, First Christian Church in Little Rock. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was also a kind and compassionate man who touched many hearts. He was a wonderful man - loved and respected by those who knew him. Memorial Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas.
