Mary Lois Rankin

Mary Lois Kendrick Rankin, 90 of Dumas, passed away March 11, 2014 in Monticello. She was born on September 16, 1923, Bluffton, Arkansas the daughter of George Thomas Kendrick and Lou Harris Kendrick. Mrs. Rankin was owner of Mary's Grocery for 22 years, member of Pea Ridge Assembly of God Church, she loved to sew and quilt, and also known by her family as the "best hugger". Her husband "Sonny" Ocus Rankin, her parents, three sons, James, Donnie and Larry Rankin, a grand daughter, Donna Lynn Rankin, a sister and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors are her sister, Margaret (James) Jarrett of Monticello, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 13, Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 15, Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Ricketts, burial in Walnut Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Arkansas.
