Camilla Marr defined grace and poise for many who knew her. She had an infectious laugh, boundless energy and a perfectionist streak that ensured her dinner parties were always gourmet and her friends' cocktail glasses were never empty. She was a great storyteller, who could regale a crowd with yarns ranging from her youth chopping cotton to the perils of selling real estate during a recession. Camilla Fay Raymond was born December 15th, 1934, to Malvern Columbus Raymond and Florence Mabel (Sanders) Raymond in the Tip/Beards community of Woodruff County. After leaving her hometown near Augusta, Camilla earned an education degree from Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA). While at Teacher's, Camilla married Bill Brittenum and they had a daughter, Ann Marie. Camilla married artist and Hendrix Art professor Don Marr in 1961. They built their lives and home together on Lake Beaverfork in Conway. They enjoyed the water, picnicking, fishing, focusing on family and friends, Don's painting and Hendrix. In the mid ‘70s, Camilla began to explore her own professional endeavors in both teaching and real estate. She served as president of the Conway Board of Realtors in 1990 and was awarded realtor of the year. As a leader in the local real estate community, she was known for promoting realtor education and a professional image for the industry. As a lifetime member of the Century 21 Million Dollar Club, Camilla was known for promoting professional standards. Her conduct in personal and business activities was based upon a sense fairness, honesty and integrity. Camilla Marr loved her family "the most," enjoyed playing bridge with dear friends, singing along to show tunes while frying chicken in the kitchen and waltzing with Don at the Conway Country Club where they were a fixture on the dance floor for a generation. Camilla passed away peacefully at her home on May 28th, 2014. She is survived by her children: Ann Brittenum and husband Gary Hearne of Eureka Springs, Allison Marr of Little Rock, Holly Marr of Conway, and Duke Marr of New York, NY; her stepdaughter Adrienne Sergeant of Irving, Texas; her grandchildren: Jules Hearne of Kansas City, Penelope Hearne of Chicago, Julia Lee McGill of Little Rock and Ryan Sergeant of Irving, Texas; her siblings: Pat Jackson of Kerrville, Texas, James Raymond of Blytheville, and Penny Stanley of Augusta.
