Clara Sue Woodrum

Clara Sue Woodrum, 79, of Benton left her earthly ties to dwell with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014. She was born on March 1, 1935 in Bauxite, Ark. to William Broadway and Fannie (Stroup) Broadway, both of whom have passed. Clara leaves behind to cherish her memory two sisters, Sharon Oliver (Tommy) and Mary Campbell (Danny); her son, Dan Yates (Linda) and daughter, Kathy Waters; grandchildren, Kevin Yates, David Yates, Robert Yates, Dan Waters and Katy Waters; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Clara's great passions were being surrounded by her family, preserving and canning fruits and vegetables, as well as serving the Benton Senior Adult Center as a volunteer for many years. She loved all of the folks there and was especially well known for her ability to get them moving about in many a dance session. A graveside memorial service for Clara will be held on Monday, Nov. 3, 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Pastor Mike Titsworth of Trinity Baptist Church located in Benton will officiate. There are no other services pending.
