Wetzel C. LaGrone

Wetzel C. LaGrone passed away Friday, Nov. 7,2014 at his home in Dover. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lurelene Aaron and Chesley LaGrone and a son, Steven LaGrone, all of Carthage, Texas and his first wife, Anne Bellamy LaGrone. He is survived by his wife, Betty LaGrone; one daughter, Sharon (Randy) LaGrone Kinsey of Carthage; and three sons, Kenneth (Annette) Hull, Brian (Teresa) Hull of Dover, and Michael LaGrone of Lexington, Ky; and daughter-in-law, Kathy LaGrone of Carthage. Eight grandchildren Christopher LaGrone of Dallas, Shannon (Ben)LaGrone Hays of Carthage, Chrystal (Phil) Compton Vega of Dardanelle, Kelly (Patrick) Compton Schmidt of Alma, Heather (Nick) Hull Jones of Conway, Joshua (Andrea) Hull of Dover, Brad (Erica) Hull of Atlanta, Ga, and Cody Rose Hull of Dover. He also is survived by 11 beloved great-grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, and a host of family, peers, and friends. He loved hunting and playing golf, reading, writing poetry, telling stories based upon events from his life, painting, and working to improve the community and the lives of senior citizens. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 501 South Phoenix St., Russellville, Ark with Father Jose Tharakan officiating Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. with visitation to follow in Sutherland Hall. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. the following day in Deadwood Cemetery, Deadwood, Texas. He will be interned beside his son Steven and many LaGrone ancestors.
