Clarence Clinton Rhodes, Sr.

Clarence Clinton Rhodes, Sr., 92, of North Little Rock, Ark. made his transition from this earthly life on November 6, 2014 to be with the Lord. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired in 1976 from Fort Roots Veterans Hospital after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Mae Barber Rhodes; parents, Johnnie Rhodes, Sr. and Ida Mae Crutchfield Rhodes; daughter, Mable Jean Rhodes Dawson; son, Clarence C. Rhodes, Jr.; siblings, Johnnie Rhodes Jr., Elijah Rhodes Sr. and Bestella Rhodes Martin; two sons-in-law, Charles Grind and Angelo Taylor; and grandson, Marlo Taylor. He was the oldest male member of King Solomon Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memories; children, Kathy Grind, Dorothy (Billy, Sr.) Dillard, Jeanette Taylor, Harold (Erma) Rhodes, Marilyn (John) Green, William Lamond (Deborah) Rhodes and Sharon (Dennis) Roby; son-in-law, Rev. Leonard Dawson; daughter-in-law, Shirley Rhodes; sisters, Ida Adams and Myrtle Crump; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends to celebrate his life. Family Hour on Friday, November 14, 2014, 6-7 p.m., and Funeral Services on Saturday, November 15, 2014, 11 a.m., both held at King Solomon Baptist Church, 1304 Pine Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Burial on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11 a.m., Little Rock National Cemetery, 2523 Confederate Blvd., Little Rock, Ark. Services entrusted to Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S.
