LOUISE MURRAY, 89, died Nov. 15, 2014, in North Little Rock, Ark. after a long illness. She was born Flora Louise Julius on Sept. 28, 1925, in Chicago, Ill. She was the widow of Carl Murray and is survived by her two children, Velma Swann of North Little Rock and Wendell Murray (Jackie Cash) of Memphis, Tenn. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Angela Swann, Lenora Roberts (Greg) and Victor Swann (Ashley) and five great-grandchildren, David Swann, Kira Mooney, Carlos Chavez, Olivia Swann and Barrett Swann. Louise is also survived by three sisters, Lily Mae Beeler (Joe), Alice Hamby (Jack), and Betty Ruth Williams (Gene). Louise had a great intellectual curiosity and a deep appreciation of the arts. She read daily from her extensive library and through the years taught herself to draw and paint, to write both prose and poetry and to play multiple musical instruments, including piano, violin and guitar. Her accomplishments included publication of some of her drawings and writings. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family always the center of her life. A generous spirit, she always had room at her table for friends and family. She will be greatly missed by the many who loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, with Phil Stowers officiating, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116, (501) 791-7400. Visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
