CMSgt. Earl Phillips USAF (Ret.) age 79, of Jacksonville passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. He was born September 7, 1935 in Neon, Kentucky to the late John and Inez Phillips. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge in Cordell, Oklahoma, he later became a 32 Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite in Okinawa. He was graduate of Park College, he retired from the United States Air Force after 32 years with an extension of duty at the request and for the convenience of the government. He was a member of the Air Force Sgt Association, Air Force Association, Missileers Association, served as Senior Enlisted Advisor at the Little Rock Air Force Base, 308th Strategic Missile Wing. After retirement from the Air Force Mr. Phillips went on to work for the Arkansas Department of Community Punishment in the office of field services as a work program advisor, then he went on to work for the Arkansas Department of Community Correction as a institutional parole services area manager. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters; Olive Howlett, Florence Rose, Sandra Willoughby. Mr. Phillips is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gail Anne Phillips, daughters, Earlene Wainwright and Dawn Reed of Cabot, siblings; John Phillips and Jane Keibler both of Baltimore, Maryland, and one brother-in-law, Carl Rose of Richmond, Virginia, grandchildren; Ben Wainwright, Parish Reed, Jess Reed, and Action Jackson, and one great-grandchild, Payton Wainwright. A Celebration of Mr. Phillips life will be from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock with military honors. The family would like to thank Dr. Church, Liz the Coronary Care Nurse and the staff of Baptist Springhill Medical Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
