Glenda Nicholson Miller

Glenda Ragsdale Nicholson Miller of Jonesboro was born September 20, 1923 in Quebec, La. and died October 8, 2014 at the age of 91. She was a Methodist by faith and last attended Fisher Street Methodist in Jonesboro, Ark. Preceded in death by her parents James Preston Ragsdale Sr. and Mary Jefferson Ragsdale and her brother Jimmy Ragsdale all of Dumas, Ark. Her late husbands, Raymond Nicholson, Jr. "Nick" of Newport, AR and Jack Miller of California. Her daughter, Dena Nicholson Villani of Jonesboro, Ark. Survivors include: daughters, Jamie Crain and her husband Mark of Jonesboro, Ark., Linda Nicholson Campbell and her husband Craig of Strawberry, Ark., one son, Raymond Lee Nicholson III and his wife Michele of El Cajon, Calif.; two step-daughters, Gay Jura and husband Piere and Lyn Schulte of Long Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren, Heather Hays and her husband John of Long Beach, Calif., Awston Cullum of Jonesboro, Ark., Justin Tinsley and his wife Kelli and son Taylor of Kennesaw, Ga., Paul Tinsley and his wife Brandy and daughters, Mary Claire and Whitney of Maumelle, Ark., Walker Crain of Germantown, Tenn. and Kathryne Crain and her husband Sergio Baquero of Barcelona, Spain. Glenda attended Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark. During WWII she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" in California. She was the owner and operator of Nicholson Welding Shop, Inc. and part owner of Newport School of Beauty Culture. She had a Knack for writing and was asked to entertain by singing at special events. She had a good sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Graveside service will be held October 18, 2014, 10 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Ark.
