Patricia "Pat" Massey Crain, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born December 19, 1924, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rosalie Mason Massey. She grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating from Central High School. She attended Little Rock Junior College, now UALR. In 1950, she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, with a B.S. in Social Work. Mrs. Crain worked as a Social Worker for the State of Arkansas and later became a kindergarten teacher. In November of 1950, she married S. Wilson Crain. Together they shared over fifty years of life, love and marriage, until his death in 2002. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Bess Jenkins Club, PEO Sisterhood and First Baptist Church, where she served as a preschool Sunday school teacher for over forty years. Mrs. Crain was a volunteer at the Arts & Science Center of Southeast Arkansas. She was a volunteer at JRMC, where she served as President of the JRMC Auxiliary and was named volunteer of the year in 2005-2006. She also served on the Advisory Council of RSVP. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Wilson Crain; a grandson, Mark Stafford; and a sister, Sunny Massey. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Blackstock, of Pine Bluff; her grandsons, Richard Stafford, and wife, Marianne, of Panama City Beach, Florida and Joshua Blackstock, of Little Rock; her great grandchildren, Logan, Mason and Madalynn Stafford; her brother, Dick Massey, and wife, Dawne of Dallas, Texas and a host of friends and church family. Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014, at First Baptist Church Pine Bluff, with the Reverend Gordon Topping officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
