Penny Lynne Pierce Ramsey , age 49, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2014 after losing her battle with a rare disease; Moyamoya. She was surrounded by her closest friend and loving family as she left this life for the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ. Penny was born on January 30, 1965 in Wellington, Kansas to Jerry Norris (preceded) and Rita Ornsby. She was a single mother of two boys, now grown and making their own way in the world. Penny graduated from the Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe, Kansas and was involved with the deaf community throughout her life. She wore several hats, was especially good with her hands and was able to fix nearly anything that was broken. She especially loved the out-of-doors and would love every opportunity to go camping and fishing. Penny also loved animals and had pets all of her life. Penny is survived by her sons, Aaron Barker of Garden City, Kan., Dryden Barker of Wichita, Kan., two granddaughters, Zinley and Lily, her mother and step-father, Rita and Johnnie Ornsby of Greenbrier, brother and sister in-law, Scot and DeDe Pierce, nieces, Paige and Brooklyn Pierce of Wichita, Kan., Chloe Young of Arkansas, nephews, Drew Pierce of Wichita, Kan. and Seth Young of Arkansas, step-sister and brother-in-law, Denisha and Chance Young of Monticello. Other survivors include her close friend, Sandy Younger of Wichita, KS along with a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate, reflect and remember Penny will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 4 p.m. in Bishop-Crites Funeral Home Chapel, 108 N. Broadview, Greenbrier, Arkansas.
