Joy Jones Rankin, 90, of Lake Village, Arkansas passed away Sunday, March, 29, 2015. She was born in Lavaca, Arkansas on March 28, 1925 to the late A.A. and Mittie Stubblefield Jones. Joy was a pre-school Sunday school teacher for many years. She was married for 30 years to the late H.F. Rankin until his death. Joy loved to travel and spent time working in Elko, Nev. at a delicatessen. She loved to cook, quilt and sew. Joy also loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith. She often witnessed to others. Joy was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca, Ark. Other than her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, June Jones Thomas and her brothers, Ralph Jones and Guy Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Jolene Beasley and her husband, Doug of Lake Village, Ark.; stepson, Eddie F. Rankin and his wife, Joan of Mathis, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruth Holt Jones of Mountainburg, Ark.; two step-grandchildren, Dixie Lytle of Beeville, Texas and Allan Rankin of LaPort, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, April 3, 2015 at Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca, Ark. with Rev. David Rhodes officiating. There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. before the funeral, at the church. Burial will follow at Tate Cemetery near Lavaca, Ark.
