Terressa Ann Curtis

Terressa Ann Curtis, 52, of Emerson, Ark., passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at her home. She was born on Oct. 18, 1962 in Camden, Ark. and was preceded in death by her parents, James Curtis, Sr. and Marjorie (Champlin) Curtis; paternal grandparents, Henry and Grace Curtis; Raymond and Ollie Champlin. Terressa was member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo and was attending the Rugged Cross Cowboy Church in Magnolia. She was an Agriculture Teacher for Emerson High School and the Mayor of Emerson. She was the President of the Columbia County Fair Board and the former President of the Arkansas State FFA Alumni Association; was a 4-H Leader and mentor of many children. Terressa is survived by her brothers: Raymond "Buddy" Curtis (Maria) of Bellefontaine, Ohio; Ronnie Curtis of Hartshorne, Okla.; James Curtis, Jr. (Shelia) of Camden, Ark., Shane Curtis (Leslie) of Vilonia, Ark.; sisters: Brenda Galindo (Mario) of Camden, Ark., Rebecca Curtis of El Dorado, Ark.; eight nephews; six nieces; and a host of great nephews and great nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Emerson High School Gym with Bro. Mike Launius and Bro. Eric Goble officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Bearden, Ark. under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Samples, Kelly Waller, Steve Rowe, Kent Waller, David Cunningham, and Eli VanCamp.
