Lee R. "Pete" Newman

Lee R. "Pete" Newman, 78, of Morrilton, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015. He was born July 7, 1936, in Oppelo, Arkansas, a son of the late Mark Matthew Newman and Thelma Lee Seay Hilliard. He was an Air Force Veteran, Administration Manager for Green Bay Packing, and a member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton. Survivors include his wife, Pat Pyle McVey Newman of Morrilton; son, Lewis (Sandy) Newman of Scotland; daughters, Cheryl (Paul)Young, and Elizabeth (Randy) Davis all of Morrilton; step-daughters, Robbie (Stan) Chapman of Little Rock, and Jennifer (Mike) Shearer of Plano, Texas; brother, Mike (Jennifer) Newman of Morrilton; grandchildren, Jeremy (Valarie) Stobaugh ,Cara (Luke) Pizzolatto, Keith (Erin) Stobaugh, David (Ashley) Newman, Blaine (Michelina) Jones, Emily ( Matthew) Bowles, John Chapman, Haley Shearer, Ellie Kate Chapman, Ben Shearer, Josie Chapman, Blaze and Landon Taylor; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Robertson Newman, a grandson, Aaron Stobaugh, and sister, Ladean Cagle. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 24th at Morrilton Downtown Church of Christ with Mr. George Hulett officiating.
