Peggy Parker Janske, age 68, of Hot Springs, Ark., died peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born July 25, 1946 in Hot Springs, Ark. to the late Alford & Marie (Burgess) Parker. My mom spent all of her childhood in Hot Springs and could not be any more proud of where she came from. She is a 1964 Hot Springs High School alumni and treasured the lifetime of friendships that she made during that time. She married my dad in 1968 in Stilwell, Okla., and they proceeded to move 18 times throughout Arkansas, Texas, and Colorado. Her career spanned a few occupations that included being a fun and very memorable teacher, owner of a lawn care company, and most recently a restauranteur. During that time she raised my brother and I and instilled in us the importance of humor and making people laugh as well as being humble, educated, and accepting of all. She was rewarded with six grandchildren that called her "Re" and she was a riot for each of them. And lastly, she was a dog lover throughout her life and never was without one. She loved working out in the yard on a warm, sun-kissed day with her dogs roaming about. That would be her perfect day! My mom will be remembered for so much, but most of all for being a honest and loyal wife, mother and friend. Peggy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Alan Janske; son, Clay Janske & his wife, Christy of Hot Springs; daughter, Shannon Janske Curry & her husband, Mike of Fayetteville, Ark.; brother, Pat Parker of Hot Springs; six grandchildren: Whit, Lexi, Jagger & Axl Janske and Gray & Ella Curry; and nephew, Greg Parker. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 30 at Garvan Woodland Gardens' Anthony Chapel with Pastor Dru Dodson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Lake Valley Community Church Mission Fund, 910 Shady Grove Road, Hot Springs, AR 71901. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
