Kathryn Frances Work Segars

Kathryn Frances Work Segars, 97, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Segars was born June 19, 1917, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Samuel F. and Clara Prier Work. She moved to Pine Bluff as an infant. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. She also attended Central Bible College and Pines Vocational School. Kathryn Frances Work married John E. Segars on May 16, 1941, in Pine Bluff. Mr. Segars passed away in 2009. Mrs. Segars was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at several locations including Trinity Village, Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pine Bluff Nursing Home and Jefferson Convalescent Home. She retired in 1989. She was a member of Forrest Park Assembly of God and attended Pine Bluff First Assembly of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. Survivors include her son, John E. Segars, Jr. and his wife, Jo, of Pine Bluff; daughter, Joy Peck and her husband, John, of Helena; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Kathy Hopper Graves; two brothers, J.W. Work and Sam Work, Jr.; sister, Rosemary Easterly; and a grandchild, Michael Stiles. The family will receive friends Friday, May 1, 2015, 6-8 p.m., at Robinson's. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 2, 2015, 2 p.m., at Pine Bluff First Assembly of God with Reverends Pat Hart and Gary Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
