Joan McMullen McClendon

Joan McMullen McClendon, 84, of Booneville, Ark., passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at home in Booneville. She was born Jan. 18, 1931 in McGehee, Ark. to Franklin Calvin, Jr. and Bessie Pauline Boyle McMullen. She worked as a telephone operator; worked at Wurlitzer and was a Fox photo courier; and was a delivery driver for the Arkansas Democrat. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, genealogy, and cooking for the family. She is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Scott McClendon; brother, Franklin Calvin McMullen III; her parents before mentioned; and stepmother, Gladys McMullen. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Booneville with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John B. McClendon, Jr. of the home; son, John B. "Mac" McClendon III of Booneville; two grandchildren, Kelley McClendon Henson of Van Buren and Ian Scott McClendon of Fort Smith; four great-grandchildren: Cami Henson and Macie Henson, Emma McClendon and Ian McClendon, Jr.; other relatives and friends.
