G. Wayne Jeffries

G. Wayne Jeffries of Conway departed this life on July 31, 2015. He was born in Conway on June 11, 1939, to C. Wayne Jeffries and Lucille Gilley Jeffries. On July 19, 1963, he married Lavada Kruse. Their 52nd wedding anniversary was just days prior to his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Modena Kay; and a brother, Reverend Larry Jeffries. Wayne was a graduate of Conway High School and Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA). He served in the Army Reserve. He also enjoyed a 40 year career with Virco Manufacturing Corp. of Conway. He is survived by his wife, Lavada; a nephew, Greg Jeffries (Sheila); two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hall and Sandra Jeffries; and a great niece and nephew, Kristin and Joshua Jeffries. A special thank you to his many friends at Centennial Valley Club for all the joy they brought to his life. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Conway Regional Hospital who so skillfully and compassionately cared for him. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Humane Society in Conway in Wayne's memory at P.O.
