Bobby E. Smith

Bobby E. Smith, 78, of Benton, passed away August 6, 2015. He was born July 27, 1937 in Benton to the late Coyt Smith Sr. and Fannie Cash Smith. Bobby was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Haskell.Bobby married the love of his life, Dixie on December 7, 1957. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from a 33 year career in management from Safeway and Harvest Foods. Bobby was the ultimate planner and provider for his family and others he loved. He loved spending time with his family and was happiest when helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Coyt Smith Jr., and sister, Marie Brumbelow. Bobby is survived by his wife, Dixie Smith of Benton, daughters, Amelia (Brad) Glass and granddaughter, Sarah Glass of Maumelle, Robin Smith of Little Rock and Teresa Smith-Chidester,(Danny) of Conway, brother, Bill (Pat) Smith of Springdale, sister-in-law, Kathryn Smith and mother-in-law, Vasca Westbrook and many extended friends that he considered family. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Saturday with burial to follow at Graham Cemetery in Haskell. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Ashby Funeral Home.
