Phillip "Pe-Pa" Rae Walters of Prattsville, Arkansas was born March 19, 1931 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas the son of the late Ben H. Walters and Aileen Kemp Walters May. He was a faithful member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, where he had taught Sunday School for over 25 years and had served as Sunday School Superintendent. He had served in the United States Army and had retired from AP&L after 23 years of service. He loved history, reading, working puzzles and listening to country music. He enjoyed working as a radio announcer for KVSA in McGhee and KCLA in Pine Bluff for several years. Mr. Walters died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Benton at the age of 84. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Hollinger Walters, and an infant brother, Ben Rae Walters. Survivors: loving daughter, Phyllis Anne Buie and husband Randy of Prattsville; grandchildren, Heather Anne Buie of Benton and Phillip Chase Buie and wife Jill of Prattsville; brother-in-law, Russell Hollinger and wife Lynda of Prattsville, sisters-in-law, Eunice Mooney of Prattsville, Sue Hollinger of Sheridan, Orene Caple and husband Doc of Sardis and Mildred Hollinger of Malvern; great grand dogs, Norman, Ace and Gerdy and numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Don Goodman and Bro. Danny Seal officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. Pallbearers are Randy Buie, Chase Buie, Chuck Fowler, Danny Seal, Daniel Crutchfield, and Robert Earl Mooney. Memorials may be made to Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 281 Grant 48, Prattsville, Arkansas 72129.
