Lavena Helen Taylor, 88, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Trinity Village Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1927 in Story, Arkansas, daughter of Earl C. and Pearl Reed Qualls. Lavena Qualls was reared and received her early education in Watson, Arkansas, graduating from Watson High School in 1946. After high school, she married E.T. Taylor May 4, 1946 in McArthur, Arkansas and they moved to Pine Bluff. She was a homemaker and member of Oak Park Freewill Baptist Church, Arkansas Travelers, VIPS and RSVP. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers, Herschel Qualls, Harold Qualls and Howard Qualls. Survivors include two sons, Larry Taylor and his wife, Pennie, of Fairfield Bay and Garry Taylor and his wife, Deronda, of Fort Smith; three daughters, Kathy Elsberry and her husband, Larry, of Searcy, Karen Pennington and her husband, Jim, of Mena and Regina Ashcraft and her husband, Phillip, of Pine Bluff; sister, Merle Brumbelou of Jackson, Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Will Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
