Shirley Ann Hoffman, 82, of North Little Rock, passed away August 14, 2015. She was born November 18, 1932 in Topeka, Kan. to Lewis and Mary Jacob Rendle. Shirley was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters, and an active member of the local AARP. She most recently worked as a North Little Rock substitute teacher and a hospital volunteer at St. Vincent North. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf and watching sports on television. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Lynn Fryar (Gary); son, Steve Hoffman (Kim); and daughter, Danine Gabriel; grandchildren, Brandon, Brittney and Bryson Gabriel; and her favorite furry friend, "Wally" the cat. Shirley was a "people person" and will be missed by her family and many close friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, William "Bill" Hoffman. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary to follow on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
