Martha Yates

Martha Nell Yates, age 77, of Benton, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. She was born April 7, 1938 in White Hall, Illinois. Mrs. Yates was a retired nurse and real estate agent. She was a member of Grape Chapel Church of God and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Willie Raney Blake; two brothers, Everett and James Blake and two sisters, Eva Keene and Lela Bray. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmy D. Yates; two sons, Randall Yates and wife Kelly and Harvey Yates and wife Christie; daughter, Renee Shoppach and husband Jon Paul; sister, Neva H. Sutton and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Yates, Airman 1st Class Alexander Shoppach, Caleb Shoppach, Nathan Shoppach, Joe Douglas Ryburn and Jonah Lee Ryburn. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 23 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 24 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Kentucky Cemetery.
