Roy J. Yelenich

Roy J. "Rocky" Yelenich, 82, of North Little Rock, entered into rest on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Arkansas Hospice Center. He was born November 24, 1932, in Butte, Montana, a son of the late Matt and Ann (Derina) Yelenich. He was a member of Park Hill Presbyterian Church, where he had been an active member, and Sunday school teacher. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving four years and attaining rank of Staff Sergeant. Those who knew Rocky knew he was a self-made man in many endeavors throughout his life. He graduated TCU with a BA in Arts, and then entered his career with Continental Oil; after which, he became a real estate developer and broker, most notably was one of the active developers of the Quail Creek subdivision in North Little Rock, as well as projects in Montana, Texas, and elsewhere in Arkansas. He loved to fish and made trips to Alaska and Canada. He and Helen enjoyed travel and had been to Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda and Spain, to mention some of their trips. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Helen (Baker) Yelenich; children, Stephen Yelenich of North Little Rock; Lisa Greenhaw and husband Steve of Little Rock; Marc Yelenich and wife Melissa of Sanibel Island, Florida; sisters, Martha Sorini of Butte, Montana; Mary Forbis of Mesa, Arizona; Ann Burns of Butte, Montana; 10 grandchildren, and several nephews, nieces and friends. At the family's request, services will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Hill Presbyterian Church, 3520 John F.
