MARY LOIS GARTMAN, 89, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord, Aug. 19, 2015. She was born to James Isom & Lellion Ophelia Ashmore Fowler in Hickory Plains, Ark. on June 27, 1926. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ for many years. Mary enjoyed reading, working in her rose and flower garden, Blue Grass Festivals, and camping with her husband of 70 ½ years. She was an exceptional homemaker, kept children in her home, and was a Sunday School teacher of young children. Mary worked in a munitions plant in Jacksonville during WWII, went to beauty school and was a Girl Scout Leader. Mary and her husband Conley enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the country and internationally with Mutual of Omaha and outdoorsman Marlin Perkins of The Wild Kingdom. Joining the Lord before her were her parents, four brothers, and one sister. Mary is survived by her daughter, Peggy Dinger of Little Rock; son, Paul (Carol) Gartman of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Don, Misty, Jodi, Chuck, and Scott; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Sardin of Little Rock; and her loving dog, Ginger. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 24 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72212 (501) 225-5818 with Nick Hamilton officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside service will follow 1:30 p.m. at Beebe Cemetery, Beebe, Ark.
