Myrtle Gertrude Pasierb

Myrtle G. Pasierb age 90 passed away in Iowa City, Iowa, Aug. 19, 2015. She was born in Mattoon, Ill. but spent 60 years of her life in North Little Rock, Ark. She was the daughter of Earl J. Sieben Sr. and Hazel Gertrude Sieben, both deceased. Mrs. Pasierb was a registered nurse for 43 years, retiring from Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, as director of medical and surgical nursing. She was a graduate of Huber Memorial Hospital in Pana, Ill. and obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Central Arkansas. In addition to nursing, Myrtle was past president of AARP Big Rock Chapter 1516. She was a member of the North Little Rock Woman's Club and St. Patrick's Church in North Little Rock until her move to Iowa City. Myrtle is survived by daughters Caroline Pasierb of Iowa City and Marilyn Pasierb of New York City, sister Marie Spencer of Mesa, Ariz., grandson Aaron M. Bloch of Charlottesville, Va., as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley C. Pasierb, brothers John Sieben and Earl J. Sieben Jr., who gave his life during WWII. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27th at St. Patrick's Church 211 W. 19th Street North Little Rock, Ark. followed by burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Marche. A rosary service will be held 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 26th at North Little Rock Funeral Home 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, 501-758-1170.
