Vera Louise Hawkins

Vera Hawkins, 91, of Hot Springs, formerly of North Little Rock died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at her home with family by her side. Vera was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Roy and Elizabeth (Ehart) Cobb. She was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church. Vera had a servant's heart, which was displayed throughout her 40 plus years of being a Nurse. At the age of 50 she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Nursing through UAPB. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Hawkins Jr.; two granddaughters, Angela and Susan; and two brothers, Carl and Butch Cobb. Vera is survived by her son, Ronnie Hawkins and wife Donna of Hot Springs Village; adopted son, Richard Hawkins; daughter, Joetta Laswell of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501) 791-7400.
