Bose Barnes Jr.

BOSE BARNES JR., 75, of Little Rock, Ark., departed this life on Aug. 25, 2015. He was born on Jan. 27, 1940 to Bose and Hattie Barnes. He grew up in Scott, Ark. and graduated from Nelson High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army in 1962 and served six years active duty; he served in the U.S. Reserves as well. Bose graduated from AM&N in Pine Bluff, Ark. in 1969 with a BA in Psychology. After graduating from AM&N, he worked for the Arkansas State Rehabilitation Center, the Federal Drug Rehabilitation Center, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. He retired from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2005 after more than 30 years of service with the Federal Government. He was a faithful member of Gaines Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose Barnes; son David Barnes (Pamela); five grandchildren, Maya Barnes, Daniel Norman, Kaleem Barnes, Dylan Barnes and Bryce Barnes; and a host of nieces and nephews and close family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd at 5 p.m. at Gaines Street Baptist Church located at 1601 South Gaines Street in Little Rock, Ark. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. also at Gaines Street Baptist Church with interment at The Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Ark.
