Patricia (Patty) Scroggins

Patricia (Patty) Scroggins, 52, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015. Ms. Scroggins was a native of Lake Village; a resident of Hot Springs for the past five years and a former resident of Parkdale for most of her life. She was a farmer and a published Poet, having published three books of poems and short stories. She was a member of the Parkdale Baptist Church and she was a pet lover and loved her dogs. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nora E. Rich Scroggins in 1984; her grandparents, Ike Franklin and Flora Booher Scroggins and John and Juanita Rich; and a sister-in-law, Kim Scroggins She is survived by her father and stepmother, Billy and Betty Scroggins of Hot Springs; two brothers, Billy Gene Scroggins of Crossett and Freddy Scroggins of Hamburg; three stepbrothers, Tony Hummel and Jerry Hummel, both of Illinois and Paul Hummel of Monticello; a stepsister, Sharon Lee Harrison of Hot Springs; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Bridges officiating. Burial will be in the Jennie Cemetery in Chicot County. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas, 220 Mockingbird, Hot Springs, AR 71913. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
