Billie Margaret Edwards Cheshier, 79, of El Dorado passed away on December 1, 2015 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born on September 12, 1936 in Star City, Arkansas to Sam T. and Leland (Bill) Morgan Edwards. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Joe T. Cheshier and four sons: Greg (Kelly) Cheshier of Lincoln, Ark., Doug (Beth) Cheshier of Boone, N.C., Roger (Sarah) Cheshier of El Dorado and Paul (Hope) Cheshier of Decatur, Ala., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Ann (Bill) Gibson of Hot Springs. Billie placed her faith in Christ as her Savior at nine years old at Yorktown Baptist Church in Lincoln County, Arkansas. She was a long time, faithful member of Marrable Hill Chapel in El Dorado where she taught Children's Church and Ladies Fellowship for several years. She was trained in Evangelism Explosion in order to share the Gospel of Christ. She was a faithful supporter of several mission organizations and gave warm hospitality to many college students, visiting preachers and missionaries. However, her best witness was her daily example of an unwavering Christian woman, living out the principles of the Bible. Her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted mother, caring for her four boys and taking care of her husband with uncommon devotion. She was a meticulous housekeeper, a classy dresser and the best cook imaginable. Her table was always set and arranged beautifully. Her greatest joy was cooking a huge meal for her four boys and watching them enjoy it! She loved beautiful trees in all seasons and taking care of her gorgeous hibiscus and azalea bushes. She was known for her generous spirit, positive, unselfish attitude, godly wisdom and overflowing love for her family and friends. She is irreplaceable. Visitation will be at Marrable Hill Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015. Funeral services will be at Marrable Hill Chapel, 110 Chapel Avenue, El Dorado, Arkansas on Saturday, December 5 at 1 p.m. with the graveside service immediately following at Arlington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Victory Bible Camp, Marrable Hill Faith Promise, Gideon International or The John R. Williams Hospice House.
