Garvis Smead Arrington

Garvis Smead Arrington was born December 3, 1942 in Converse, La., to Cobern Victor Arrington and Katherine Bazemore Arrington. He stepped out of his Freightliner cab after making his final trip Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, C.V. Arrington and a special aunt, Ellen Springer. Left to cherish his memory are his two sons and their families, Adam Arrington, his wife, Michelle, daughters, Katherine and Abigail of Frisco, Texas; Brady Arrington and his sons, Brett, Chase Victor, Benjamin Cole Arrington; his brother, Jerry Arrington and wife, Linda; nieces, Melanie Eiler and Mary Chatelain; many loving cousins and countless friends. He was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ. A graduate of the Stephens Oiler Class of '61. A 20 year driver for the Elk Roofing fleet. He and his family established and operated GATCO Express, a trucking firm before his retirement. Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Ark. is in charge of the services. Visitation is Saturday, December 5 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tribute and service will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Church of Christ at Troy, Ark. Burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bo Moses, Stick Payne, Frankie Story, Robby Arrington, Bob Waters, and Alex Haire. The family would like to express their full appreciation to Dr. C.D. Williams, the staff of Arkansas Heart Hospital and Dr. Cal Sanders.
