Robert Lee Rush, Sr.

Robert Lee Rush, Sr., age 77, of Beebe, passed away from this world on December 21, 2015 at 1:03 p.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bob was born on January 31, 1938 in Madison, Pennsylvania to Clarence and Helen Rush. He honorably served in the United States Army and was medically discharged. Since 1963, Bob was a member of the local 12 Operating Engineers and worked for thirteen years in California in excavation. Bob married Martha Bearden in Sun Valley, California on September 28, 1968. He enjoyed life by bowling, building model cars, doing wood work projects, watching old classic westerns and old movies. He was a wonderful family man, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Everyone will always remember him as a strong Christian man with deep values and an open heart. Bob is survived by his wife, Martha; sons, Robert L. Rush, Jr. and wife, Kim of California, David Hanna and wife Teresa of California, Tony Rush of West Virginia, and Don Rush and wife, AC of Arkansas; son-in-law, Larry Sanders of Cabot; sister, Dolly Baker of West Virginia; twelve grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence Rush, Jr., of West Virginia and his daughter, Clara Sanders of Cabot. The family would like to express a deep heart felt thank you to St. Vincent's Hospital CVICU and the attending physicians and staff for the wonderful care Bob received. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Veterans Section.
