Maxine Wells

Maxine Wells, of Hot Springs Village, died December 25, 2015 at her residence. She was born September 20, 1918 in Brooklyn, Iowa to the late Elmer and Edna Richman. She lived in Iowa until she married Lloyd (Red) Wells and moved to Chicago where Red worked for U. S. Steel and Maxine worked for various charities including the Nearly New Shop in Beverly which benefitted Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. Upon retirement they moved to Hot Springs Village in the fall of 1983. Maxine was an active member of the Village Methodist Church, DAR, PEO and provided countless hours of volunteer work including her work with the World Services for the Blind. Her parents and a sister, Barbara Miller, preceded Maxine in death. Survivors include her children: Dr. Robert Wells and wife Patricia of Houston, Texas and Pamela Wells and husband William Weisburg of San Diego, Calif.; sister: Nancy Nichols of West Des Moines, Iowa; brother: Max Richman of Cottonwood, Calif.; four grandchildren: Jessica Fiorio, Allison and husband John Trierweiler, Emily Weisburg, and Nathanial (Brad) and wife Stephanie Wells; and two great-grandchildren: Isla Wells and Jack Trierweiler. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Good Samaritan Chapel followed by a brief ceremony in the rose garden of the Village United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxine's memory may be made to the Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village and Hospice Home Care of Hot Springs.
