JAMES B. (JIM) GANNAWAY was born in Texarkana, Texas on Jan. 15, 1922 to Malcolm and Susie Gannaway and passed away on Jan. 28, 2015. He is survived by his three wonderful and loving daughters, Sharon Scott Gannaway of Eden Prairie, Minn. and her partner, Michael Torok; Vivian Sue Gannaway Walker and her husband, Clifford Treese of Mountain House, Calif. and Linda Louise Gannaway of Fresno, Calif.; by grandson, Erik Treese, his wife, Karole and their three daughters, Grace, Lucy and Rose of Forest Park, Ill.; by grandson, Michael Treese of Chicago, Ill.; by nieces and nephews and by many wonderful friends, including triplets, Lewis, Clark and Alexis Faupel of Cabot, Ark. Jim was preceded in death by his wonderful and loving wife of 62 years, Sarah Louise Steed (Poodles) Gannaway; by his parents and by two brothers, Malcolm Gannaway Jr. and Robert Gannaway. There is no way to describe the depth of his love for his family and he was always proud of their accomplishments. Jim served in World War II as a counterintelligence agent with the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and served in various capacities, including Sunday School teacher and choir member; was attorney for the Arkansas Christian Civic Foundation for many years; practiced law in Little Rock for 33 years and four additional years in Cabot and was active in various civic clubs, the Ouachita Girl Scout Council and Aldersgate Church Council. Jim loved the beauty of God's nature and worked to help save the natural treasure of the magnificent, unique forest at Lakeside Country Club. A private family burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Russell Breshears. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to Cabot United Methodist Church, 2003 South Pine Street, Cabot, AR 72023. A memorial service will be at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock, Ark. at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015. The family would like to thank all employees at Presbyterian Village retirement center in Little Rock for their love and care during Jim's residence there.
